How long does a typical project take?

Most business websites are completed in six to ten weeks from the first call. A Starter site is usually three to four weeks. Premium engagements run three to six months. The timeline is set during the Discovery phase and written into the brief — not estimated afterwards.

What does the engagement process look like?

Six stages: Discovery, Architecture, Design, Build, Launch, Support. You see progress every Friday on a staging link. Two rounds of design revision are included as standard. The brief is signed off before any design work begins — no surprises, no scope drift.

How involved do I need to be during the project?

You need one decision-maker assigned to the project. Expect to spend one to two hours per week reviewing work and giving feedback. We handle everything else. If you go quiet for more than a week, the timeline slips — we will tell you as soon as it does.

Yes. You get a staging link from week two onwards. Click around, leave comments, request changes as you go. No waiting for a final reveal at the end of the project to find out something is wrong.

What does a website cost?

Starter sites begin at A$399. Business Growth sites at A$799. Larger engagements from A$1,499. Every project is quoted in writing after a free consultation. We do not work on hourly rates because they do not align incentives — the slower the work, the more we earn, which is the wrong structure for a client relationship.

Are the prices inclusive of GST?

Prices on this site are ex-GST unless explicitly stated. GST is added to all invoices where applicable under Australian tax law. You see the full tax breakdown on every quote.

Do you require a deposit?

For projects over A$1,000, a 50% deposit is required before design work begins, with the balance due on launch. For Starter and Business Growth packages, full payment is required up-front. Monthly addons (maintenance, SEO) are billed monthly in advance.

Are there any hidden costs?

No. The quote is the quote. The only recurring costs after launch are optional: hosting (included in maintenance), domain renewal (at cost, ~A$25/year), and any addons you choose. We will tell you about any of these in advance.

Do you offer payment plans?

For projects over A$2,000 we can split the deposit across two invoices a month apart. Monthly addons (maintenance, SEO) are already a payment plan of sorts. We do not offer long-term financing — for that, your accountant or a business line of credit is a better option.

What technology do you build with?

Mostly Next.js, TypeScript, React for custom sites. WordPress with a custom theme and minimal plugins for content-managed sites. Shopify for ecommerce. PostgreSQL or Supabase when a database is needed. The choice is driven by the brief, not by what we happen to know.

Yes. Custom sites score 95+ on Lighthouse and load in under a second on a fast connection. WordPress sites score 85+ with the same goal. We benchmark every site we ship and tell you the score.

Will the site work on mobile?

Yes. Every site is mobile-first responsive and tested on iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and the major tablet browsers. If a layout does not work on mobile, we fix it before launch — that is not an extra.

Do you build with AI tools?

Yes — for research, content drafts, and code boilerplate. All AI-generated work is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human before it ships. The final product is owned by you outright, AI provenance included in the handover.

Yes. We target WCAG 2.2 AA on every site — semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, screen reader support, colour contrast, focus states. The Accessibility audit is part of the launch checklist, not an extra.

The site enters a maintenance plan. Updates, backups, monitoring, and a small allowance of content edits are included. Larger improvements are quoted separately. Most clients stay on a plan indefinitely — it is the part of the engagement that pays for itself.

Yes. We audit and optimise existing sites as a standalone engagement. Technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content briefs, and monthly reporting. The same work, applied to a site we did not build.

How do revisions work?

Each design phase includes two rounds of revision as standard. Additional rounds are quoted at our current hourly rate, fixed in advance. Major scope changes after engagement may require a revised agreement — we tell you before doing the work.

What if I need a major change six months in?

A new feature or a redesign is a separate engagement, quoted as a project. If it is small (under a day of work), it falls under your maintenance plan hours. If it is bigger, we send a fixed-price quote. We will not surprise you with a change-request invoice.

Yes. Every project includes a training session for the team that will manage the site. We cover content updates, basic edits, and how to use any CMS we built. Sessions are recorded so you can refer back to them later.

Do I own the website when it is finished?

Yes. Code, content, design files, hosting credentials, and domain ownership all transfer to you on day one. You can take the site to another developer tomorrow if you wanted to — though we would rather you did not.

Yes. About half of our work is WordPress. We build with a custom theme and a deliberately small set of well-maintained plugins. The sites are fast, secure, and editable by your team without a developer in the loop.

We host on Vercel or DigitalOcean depending on the build. Hosting is included in every maintenance plan. Domain registration is included in the build cost for the first year. You always own the domain outright.

We carry a 30-day defect warranty. If something we built breaks under normal use in that window, we fix it at no charge. The Australian Consumer Law applies in addition to anything in this document — you have full statutory rights.
